Jamie and I absolutely love this restaurant. Coming from Southern California we always have low expectations when it comes to Mexican food in Seattle. But, Barrio satisfied our cravings. The ambiance and vibe of this restaurant is fantastic. You enter huge wood doors into a dimly lit environment with a ton of candles that light up the restaurant. Great place for a date night! The host and wait staff are friendly and very accommodating.
We typically start with a Margarita. I usually get the Ghost Pepper Margarita. Let me tell you… If you like spicy then this bad boy will be right up your alley! I have a love/hate relationship with this drink as it has one hell of a major kick! We typically order an array of tacos. The selection includes Tinga de pollo, braised jackfruit, al pastor pork sirloin, vegan chorizo, spiced cauliflower, fried chicken, pan seared salmon, spiced steak, beer battered rock fish, roasted beet, tequila battered prawn, housemade chorizo.
All in all we love this restaurant. Check it out and let us know what you think! This place is perfect for large groups! A reservation is recommended, even on a weeknight, but they can usually accommodate you. They never mind giving separate checks!
